Industrial Refrigeration Systems Are All Around Us

The average person comes into contact with industrial refrigeration systems more often than they probably even reason.  Or, if they don’t come into contact with them they are benefitting from them.  This is a type of system and associated technology that most people never give much thought to, and that is because they are everywhere we go and we are used to being able to buy perishable items that have been kept at temperatures that are safe for consumption.

Refrigeration engineering has allowed for people all over the world to eat things and enjoy things that they wouldn’t otherwise eat and enjoy.  These systems are used to keep things cool, to keep them frozen, and even to transport them from one location to another.  Refrigeration systems start long before the consumer thinks of them, though.  Producers of food items create their products and then they need to be stored even before they are transported to supermarkets.  These producers of these items usually have very large and complex systems that will allow them to continually make their products and store them at safe temperatures.

Refrigeration systems don’t stop there.  The products then need to be transferred to supermarkets to be sold, and they travel in refrigerated trucks that use the same systems as those at the manufacturer.  Once the products arrive at the supermarket or convenience stores they are then kept in coolers that use the same ammonia refrigeration technology.  Products that cannot be put out on display are then kept in refrigerators in the back of the store where they are still kept cool.

Industrial refrigeration systems are also seen in places that a lot of people don’t even think about such as the deep freezers that restaurants keep their products in, and even ice arenas.  A lot of people enjoy hockey and ice skating and ice shows and they never stop to think how it is possible for the ice to be so readily available and easy to maintain.  It is all done through refrigeration technology.

As you can see, refrigeration systems really are everywhere you turn.  When you stop in to the convenience store for that cold soda, when you shop at the grocery store, when you eat foods that are not processed on site.  All of this is possible due to ammonia refrigeration.  Without these systems we would all be hard pressed to eat half of the foods that we eat, at least from the providers that are now get them from.  Refrigeration really has allowed us to expand our horizons and enables us to buy food that is fresh and safe to eat for longer and longer periods of time.
